Domiciliary Care

For adults with learning disabilities who want — and can — live an independent life under their own roof with their own front door

We provide domiciliary tenancies based out of our specially adapted houses and bungalows located across Glossop and Buxton.

These services give our clients the freedom of enjoying complete autonomy over their daily routines, combined with the reassuring  security of having support on hand when needed. All our accommodation we offer takes the form of a range of attractively adapted buildings and benefit from state-of-the-art safety and sensory modifications.

Often shared, always fully furnished, our domiciliary houses are overseen by our dedicated support team who help our residents to live their daily lives exactly how they want to, and always as independently as possible.

Additionally, our domiciliary team is always on hand to help arrange to access specific services and social activities on request

Independent Living

As far as they are able too, our tenants manage their own household bills, take care of their own housework, and do their own shopping and cooking – although support workers are available to, of course, step in at any time as needed.

Tenancies and Funding

A typical tenancy runs for six months and can be renewed on an ongoing rolling basis. The cost of part, or all, of residents’ rents may be available through the Derbyshire County Council or can sometimes be funded by the NHS – our finance team can advise you on your options. What’s On in our Community

Encouraging our clients to take part in regular social and sports activity that they enjoy is a very important part of our care provision services. Not only does getting out and about mean clients meet new people and make new friends, but that they gain lots of confidence and social skills and improve their overall fitness, health, and wellbeing.

At St Christopher’s Trust, we have always worked with our local community to provide accessible and affordable activities in safe environments for adults living with a range of learning disabilities, their families, and carers. There is always something interesting to do, friendly people to talk to and plenty of delicious refreshments on offer.
