As we embark on this milestone, we reflect on our journey and look forward to a future filled with enthusiasm, hope, and compassion. We also look forward to the continued support and commitment of our local community, our wonderful staff and our amazing clients.
Some of Our Special Milestones
- 1950s: Pioneering Care Begins In 1954, St. Christopher’s Trust laid its foundation with a school dedicated to children with learning disabilities. By 1959, Derby House emerged as a dedicated space for older boys, allowing us to consolidate our expertise and tailor services to meet the unique needs of older students.
- 1960s: Royal Recognition In the early ’60s, Princess Alexandra inaugurated Alex House, a nurturing home for adults requiring a supportive environment to thrive at their own pace.
- 1980s: Commitment to Training Recognizing the importance of vocational training, we acquired Hollincross Lane to establish a training base, ensuring our staff could provide the best specialist care.
- 2000s: Community Expansion Entering the new millennium, our commitment expanded with the purchase of 20 Hollincross Lane, marking the beginning of extending services beyond school and residential facilities. Today, we manage over [number] specially adapted buildings to support independent living.
- 2018: Derby House Refurbishment A significant step in 2018 saw the complete refurbishment of Derby House, ensuring modern amenities while maintaining a welcoming environment for residents.
- 2020: Navigating Challenges Despite the unprecedented challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, our team adapted services to meet safety requirements, ensuring the well-being of residents and staff.
Present Day: Remaining A Constant Beacon of Hope
